Formal Letter and Cover Letter LaTeX Template
A formal letter has to follow a layout that readers expect: sender and recipient blocks, the date, a clear subject line, a polite opening and closing, and room for a signature. This free LaTeX template for a formal letter sets all of it up with KOMA-Script's scrlttr2 class and comes filled in as a job application cover letter. You fill in a handful of fields, replace three paragraphs and see the PDF update as you type.

What's included
- Letterhead with the sender's name, address, phone and email, set off from the text by a thin rule
- Recipient block, place and date line, and a bold subject line
- Opening and closing phrases, with room for a handwritten signature above your typed name
- Optional enclosures and copies lines (\encl and \cc)
- A realistic three-paragraph cover letter that fits on one A4 page
How to customize it
Edit the \setkomavar lines in the Letter data block of main.tex to change the sender, place, date, subject and signature, and write the recipient inside \begin{letter}{...}, one line per \\. Replace the three paragraphs with your own text, use "Dear Hiring Manager," when you do not know a name and change the closing to "Yours faithfully," in that case. Delete the \encl line if you have nothing to enclose.
